| Project description | Chengeston Home Care is a safe house for abused and vulnerable children in Gokwe. Since its inception the orphanage has housed and saved many children who are dumped by their parents due to unwanted pregnancies. It currently shelters children of all ages. A reasonable number of the children are HIV/AIDS orphans who lost their parents from HIV/AIDS, some were deserted by their parents dumped in bushes, toilets among other places. The centre also acts as a drop-in centre were abused children are kept in good health and safety while investigations are pending by responsible authorities. |
